Hoodia Gordonii Diet Pills Facts And Myths Uncovered
Myth: "Getting Hoodia
gordonii from a national 'Nutrition Chain'
means I'm assured of quality."
I was stunned
to find out that the Hoodia diet pills for sale in
national health food stores and drug chains
are totally useless.
What I didn't know is
that most if not all national health
stores and drug chains care first and
foremost about one thing - their
bottom line.
If a vendor wants
the national health stores and chains to
carry his worthless Hoodia weight loss
product all he has to
do is:
- Insure & indemnify
the chain against potential claims and
damages
- Provide a "Certificate
of Authenticity" saying it's "uncontaminated
to the best of his knowledge"
- Agree to promote
and advertise aggressively
- Give it to them
dirt cheap
Rest assured, they
already know real Hoodia gordonii is not cheap. But
apparently they're willing not only to look
the other way but to insist on a dirt cheap
price just to bolster their bottom line.
Myth: "Hoodia is unproven."
Hoodia Fact: In 2001 Phytopharm completed a double-blind,
placebo-controlled clinical study in overweight,
but otherwise healthy volunteers using an
extract of Hoodia gordonii. The large doses
of extract caused a statistically significant
reduction in the average daily calorie intake.
In addition, a statistically significant
reduction in body fat content was also observed
compared to the placebo group after two
weeks.

Myth: "Hoodia
is patented by Phytopharm therefore no one
can legally sell it."
Fact: In 2001, Phytopharm, a small firm in
Cambridgeshire, England said it had discovered
a potential cure for obesity derived from
an African cactus.
It later emerged that the company
had patented the appetite-suppressing P57
molecule in the Hoodia succulent. But this is not the same as having a patent on the plant
itself. No one can restrict you from the benefits of a plant
containing a naturally occurring molecule.
Phillip Jones, in
his "Overview of United States Patent
Law," says "…a naturally
occurring molecule cannot be patented even
if the patent applicant was the first to
discover the existence of the molecule.
Only a purified, isolated or altered form
of a naturally occurring molecule may be
patentable."

My exhaustive research
into the Hoodia weight loss products market along with the independent
investigation by journalists across the
world is helping to shine the light on crooked
practices. Hopefully, you now have the facts
you need to separate the real from the fakes
to avoid making costly mistakes.
Myth: "Any Hoodia from Africa will curb my appetite"
Fact: Although the genus Hoodia is widespread
in southern Africa, herbarium records indicate
that Hoodia gordonii only occurs in South
Africa and Namibia. Any claims about other
areas of distribution should be verified
by a competent taxonomist.

Myth: "All
suppliers of Hoodia diet pills are required to give
a portion of their profits to the SAN people who discovered its useful properties."
Fact: Many of the newcomers to the benefits of
Hoodia couldn't care less.
One of the things I looked for when researching
Hoodia companies was if they were being
responsible to the people who discovered
this marvelous plant. For that reason I
made sure any company I did business with
could prove they give at least 6% of the
sales price of SAN endorsed Hoodia to the
SAN People who for the most part are very
poor, with very serious needs.
Before spending
precious health dollars on any company’s
Hoodia gordonii, check with Alkemists Pharmaceuticals.
You can reach them by phone at (714) 754-4372
or you can e-mail them.
These are just a few
of the myths I uncovered and have tried
to answer. If you'd like to get Hoodia diet pills from the
only supplier that has met all my conditions
